Learn about property insurance

When it comes to condominium corporation insurance there is no choice whether to have protection or not. This module looks at the fundamentals of condominium property insurance and the difference between what the corporation must insure and what insurance responsibilities rest on the unit owners. It will also touch upon the differences between regular repair and maintenance, and insurable losses.

Since Condominium property insurance is a complex issue, this module is essential in providing a general understanding of basic property insurance concepts and obligations as they relate to a condominium.

 

About the course

In this course, the participants will be introduced to property insurance: Corporation-purchased insurance; unit owner-purchased insurance; the role of the broker and renewal of the policy; how the claim process works; and the importance of risk management.
